2. Describe cargo and packaging
Include product category, packages, packaging type, dimensions, total volume, gross weight and whether the cargo contains batteries, liquids, powders, temperature requirements or oversized pieces.

State the cargo-ready date, required arrival window, whether transshipment is acceptable and whether speed or cost is the main priority.
4. Define the service scope
Clarify port-to-port, door-to-port, port-to-door or door-to-door and list pickup, customs, warehousing, delivery, inspection and insurance requirements.
5. Share trade and document clues
If Incoterms, commercial invoice, packing list or product information are available, mention them. Additional documentation varies by cargo and jurisdiction.
